Your First Chiropractic Visit
Please plan to bring a government issued photo ID and a copy of your insurance card (don't forget your secondary insurance card if you have one). When you get to the office you will be asked to complete a bit of paperwork. Most patients complete this paperwork in ten minutes or less. For your convenience you may complete the forms at home prior to your visit. They can be found on this site under the New Patient Center tab.
After completing the intake paperwork you will meet with the doctor. You should be prepared to answer questions about your current condition, past injuries, prior tests such as X-rays or MRI, other health problems, as well as your current medication list and your surgical history. During your evaluation the doctor will try to identify the source of your condition. Your evaluation may include analysis of your posture and of the way you walk and perform other basic movements as well as tests to evaluate nerve, muscle and joint function. X-ray, MRI and other studies are not required of all patients and will be ordered only when medically necessary. If no additional testing is required, then you will be given a report of the doctor's findings to answer all of your questions immediately after your evaluation concludes. If appropriate you may be offered pain-relieving treatment following the report. We will also send a written report to your family doctor to keep him/her informed of your condition and the treatment we have recommended.
You should allow about an hour for your initial visit to our office.
